Wavellite from Arkansas

Wavellite Al3(OH)3(PO4)2 -5H2O
Our first specimen has very rare but not well formed hemispherical crystals. Wavellite is a secondary mineral found on joint surfaces, in cavities on slate rock. It occurs here in limonitic ore with fibrous radiating crystals covering the specimens. Wavellite is named after the discoverer W.Wavell.
