Rodochrosite Crystal

Rhodochrosite crystal

The name refers to to the Greek word rose-red. In the first sample the Rhodochrosite in was formed as stalagmites in the silver mines of the Incas. Rhodochrosite is found in both Argentina and in the United States in Colorado. Directly of above is a rare crystal specimen from Colorado. It has a hardness of 4 and crystals are consider rare.
