Quartz has a mineral compound of SiO2.nH2O. (Silicon dioxide) This group of quartz crystals are the most known group of Macrocrystalline, which includes amethyst, aventurine, rock crystal, citrine prase, hawk's eye, quartz cat's eye, smokey quartz, rose quartz and tiger's eye.
Microcrystalline quartz includes the chalcedony group, which is my favorite to find. Agate, Petrified Wood or fossilized wood, chrysoprase, heliotrope, jasper, cornelian, moss agate, onyx and sard.
