This light blue specimen has elongated tabular crystals. Kyanite is a raw material for the manufacturing of porcelain products. It's used as an electrical insulator and is acid resistant. There is a huge New England deposit. A green opaque crystals is found in Minas Gerais, Brazil. This variety can be faceted as a gem.
