This sample shows the transparent white or milky color of the crystals. Hemimorphite colorcan very from white, yellowish bluish, brownish and from clear to dull with streaks.


Hemimorphites develops under relatively low temperature conditions. Masses of hemimorphite have been found in North America in both New Jersey and Mexico.


It's name is formed from two Greek words. The first is the prefix hemi-, which means "half, the second, is the word morph which alludes to the crystal's "form". Notice that the hemimorphite crystal presents differently at each end in a blade like shape.
