The color of epidote can vary from colorless gray streaks to yellowish green and brownish black; . In this speciman, (709) the epidote the has formed in granit pigmarites with calcite. The pastachio like color is the epidote.

Epidote is from the Greek word epi "over" and didonai which means to give.
